Help Center

What happens if my reservation request is declined or expires?

If your reservation request is declined by the boat owner or expires, meaning the owner didn’t respond within 24 hours, no charge will be made for the reservation and you’re free to book another boat.

The BoatBooker team will do their best to find an alternative charter for you. We'll reach out to you via email with information about why your reservation was declined, along with alternative options.

We urge our partners to keep their calendars up to date and respond to requests in a timely manner, however, these situations can still happen – especially during peak season. The best way to avoid this issue is to book with charter operators who have the Instant Book feature enabled on their listing.

    Temporary Authorizations

Your payment method may be temporarily authorized for a charge when you request a reservation, but this authorization will be voided and released back to the payment method if your request is declined or expires. We complete a charge only when a reservation request is confirmed.
