Why are phone numbers masked?

Masked phone numbers allow captains and customers to prepare for fishing trips while keeping their private contact details protected.

Our system may assign you a masked phone number once your booking has been confirmed. This number will remain active until the booking has taken place.

The masked phone number acts just like a direct number and will put you directly through to the person you're going on a trip with, as long as you're calling from the phone number that you entered when you made your booking. If you’re calling from a different number to the one you signed up with, you’ll be prompted to enter your booking ID in order to continue.

To contact the other party before a trip has been confirmed, you can use BoatBooker’s safe and secure Instant Messaging platform. We recommend always communicating through BoatBooker in order to keep your communications and private details protected.
